The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 15

Basketball JesusThere was quite a bit of movement in the last week of the Basketball Jesus Rankings before the All-Star game. There are some friendly faces at the top as LeBron James had a couple of nice games to maintain the top spot and a comfortable lead over Dwyane Wade in the second spot. D-Wade also has a nice cushion over the number three spot. But that’s where it starts to get interesting.

There’s no new faces on the list this week, but there are a few players that we may not get to see for a while after this week.

The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 13

Basketball JesusNo surprise that as long as LeBron James continues to dominate play in the NBA, he will continue to dominate the Basketball Jesus Rankings. Dwyane Wade has cut his lead down to just 57 points, but even that margin won’t be made up overnight when he’s going up against LeBron James.

Kobe continues to rise up the charts. He’s the only player I could possibly see challenging King James and D-Wade for one of the top spots.

Basketball JesusFor the first edition of the Larry Bird Fantasy Basketball League, Basketball Jesus Rankings in the new year, 2009, we have… well… nothing new. We start the year off with a whole lot of everything we’ve seen before. LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh at the top. Kevin Durant hanging on at the bottom. And Joe Johnson just keepin on somewhere in the middle.

The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 9

Basketball JesusWhat a difference a month makes. Back in Week 5 Amare Stoudemire was off to a good start to the season and sitting pretty collecting healthy point and rebound totals in every game, earning him the fifth spot in our rankings. Then things started to turn. He dropped to sixth in week 6. Then to ninth in Week 7. He bounced back to the seventh spot in Week 8. And in Week 9 he has found himself tetering on the edge, dropping all the way to the 14th spot. And he’s still averaging 21.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. But it looks like he’s gonna need those 25 points a game he was putting up last year if he’s gonna stay relevant in any Larry Bird Fantasy Basketball League.

Basketball Jesus

Holy Half-Man Half-Amazing, we have a Vince Carter sighting. Coming in at the #13 spot, the aging wonder has eeked his way onto the list. Only one of two Nets we might possibly see in the rankings this year. The other being Devin Harris who has been scoring like a mad man and raking in the assists as well. But he’s got a ways to go since he lost so much time with his early-season injury. LeBron has managed to hold onto the top spot, but it may not last for long as D-Wade is a measly 38 points behind.

Basketball JesusThe top four appeared to be breaking away from the pack, but now it’s dwindled to the top 2. We are still Warrior-less, but now we have two new additions to the rankings. One could be a weekly contending to stay on the list if his game continues to develop. The other Could be a regular in the top-10 if he could stay healthy. If.

Wow what a week it was. We’ve got some big things shaking up in the Week 6 Larry Bird League, Basketball Jesus Rankings including a new leader. I’ll give you a hint. His name rhymes with Crane Maaaaaaaaaaaaade. And we’ve got some notable players missing from the list too. I’m sure you’ve got some guesses. That’s enough hype, I’ll let the rankings do most of the talking. See the full list after the jump.
