The ball is tipped, and there you are. You’re running for your life, you’re a shooting star. That song means one thing, March Madness has returned. The time of year when every office secretary throws caution to the wind and ponies up the cheddar to enter their office pool and for some unknown reason automatically get the best odds of actually winning the whole thing.

The Big Shaqtus calls out Chris “Juwanna Mann” Bosh

Cowboy Chris BoshThe Big Shaqawokee has struck again. The Diesel has a long history of calling people out, and mixing it up in the press. But this one is a doozey.

After Shaq busted out a monster 45-point game against the Toronto Raptors, their star center, Chris Bosh claimed that O’Neal had been the benefactor of some officials playing loose with the rules and ignoring the three-second lane violations that Shaq should’ve picked up when he was camping out in the paint.

Shaq, not being one to take a hit lying down shot back with the following, “I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that’s strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,” O’Neal said. “I’m going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before — make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”

When I win my 1,000th game, I swear I will get rid of this ridiculous haircut

When I win my 1,000th game, I swear I will get rid of this ridiculous haircut

After Jim “Get some facts!” Calhoun got his 800th win, I started thinking about whether or not there were any men’s coaches out there that might be able to catch Pat Summit’s 1,000 wins and counting. Robert Traylor shatters backboardA team of students and professors at Clemson Univeristy are attempting to do for basketball, what the inventors of the radar gun did for baseball. The operative word being, attempting. Clemson University civil engineering professor Scott Schiff and his students are working on a contraption that measure the g-force exerted on the rim by a player dunking the ball. The unit they’ve tested at the University of Clemson has measured forces upwards of 30 G’s. They’re hoping to get their sensor system approved for use in other venues to further their “research”.

Pat SummittWith all of the political and economic turmoil and news in the air, with the sports world flooded with post-Super Bowl talk, mid-season NBA rivalries and Michael Phelps hitting the pipe, a monumental event in American sports history may go nearly unnoticed.

Tyler Hansbrough is a Joke (and I’m not Just Talking About his Facial Expressions)

Tyler Hansbrough press conferenceTyler Hansbrough, you are no Kevin Love.

Tyler Hansbrough you may be selected player of the year in the Atlantic Coast Conference, but that does not mean you are the player of the year in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Tyler Hansbrough, meet Dave Neal who is an unathletic, undersized four man listed at 6-7, 263.  If Dave Neal can push you out from underneath the basket, then just wait until guys like Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, Amare Stoudamire, and Chris Bosh man you up.

While reading one of my favorite blogs, Mark Titus’s Club Trillion, I stumbled upon a gem of a YouTube clip.  This is a video of North Carolina A&T’s home crowd during their season finale against Morgan State.
