The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 18
, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 1:30 AM Comments (0)
LeBron James continues his reign for another week as Dwyane Wade continues to fend of Kobe Bryant for the number three spot. Chris Bosh has taken quite a tumble. He was once attempting to solidify his position as the number three ranked player and since Kobe took that position from him he has steadily slid down and now sits at the number nine position.

How to make pricing your baseball card collection easier
, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1:06 PM Comments (0)
For anyone like me that still has boxes and boxes and boxes of baseball, football, basketball and soccer trading cards in their parent’s attic, hoping that the mice will leave them alone, that the moisture level will stay low, and that these cards will count as their “retirement plan” there are some tools you can use to see if you’ll be eating Ramen Noodles when you’re 75, or if you’ll be kicking it in a swank pad in Naples, Florida.

The Big Shaqtus calls out Chris “Juwanna Mann” Bosh
, Monday, March 2, 2009 at 12:00 PM Comments (0)
The Big Shaqawokee has struck again. The Diesel has a long history of calling people out, and mixing it up in the press. But this one is a doozey.
After Shaq busted out a monster 45-point game against the Toronto Raptors, their star center, Chris Bosh claimed that O’Neal had been the benefactor of some officials playing loose with the rules and ignoring the three-second lane violations that Shaq should’ve picked up when he was camping out in the paint.
Shaq, not being one to take a hit lying down shot back with the following, “I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that’s strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,” O’Neal said. “I’m going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before — make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”

Nerds screwing with sports, yet again
, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 6:12 PM Comments (3)
A team of students and professors at Clemson Univeristy are attempting to do for basketball, what the inventors of the radar gun did for baseball. The operative word being, attempting. Clemson University civil engineering professor Scott Schiff and his students are working on a contraption that measure the g-force exerted on the rim by a player dunking the ball. The unit they’ve tested at the University of Clemson has measured forces upwards of 30 G’s. They’re hoping to get their sensor system approved for use in other venues to further their “research”.

Happy Birthday Chuck
, Friday, February 20, 2009 at 6:00 PM Comments (0)
Today is a big day in the life of Charles Barkley. Today Chuck turned 45 years old, the day after returning to TNT from his DUI-related hiatus.
We love you Chuck, we’re happy that you’re back, and we hope you never leave the NBA on TNT basketball crew again. C-Webb and The Glove were great NBA players, but they couldn’t come close to replacing you on-air.

Sports teaches more than a jumpshot or home run swing
, Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 8:00 AM Comments (2)
A great story out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin today by ESPN.com. Earlier this month a senior on Milwaukee Madison’s basketball team lost his mother to cancer. He wasn’t planning to play in the game that night but later changed his mind and arrived at the gym in the second quarter.
He wasn’t in the book that night, so when his coach inserted him into the game, the officials had no choice but to access his team a technical foul, even at the objections of the opposing team.

Sacremento Kings and Chicago Bulls pull off 57 player deal
, Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 5:25 AM Comments (0)
Oh ESPN, you’re so silly the way you play with numbers. But seriously, how many players were involved in this deal? Is it five, or is it seven? It’s kind of a big deal, especially to those two guys that aren’t sure which city they’ll be living in next week.

Bulls acquired Miller, Salmons and some other guys
