Cheater or Cheetah

In my previous post I blasted every athlete as being a cheater on some level. I was an athelte and still try to be, so I can do that. I could do that regardless but I like pats on the back for my previous athletic prowess.

I always tried to play the sport fairly clean but at times even found myself using the “tricks of the trade” to dominate an opponent. Yes me. Mr. Congeniality. Sorry Mom and Dad, I wasn’t as good as you thought I was without a tug to the shorts or some trash talking mind games. Actually most people hated it because I just laughed and smiled at them while beating them mercifully. But it brings up the age old question, well probably not, but a question none the less… in one sec.

Saying 'I'm sorry' has never meant so little, err so much

Friday, Tiger Woods, the next greatest in the golf world, addressed a small room of reporters with a prepared statement written by guys and gals he is paying millions to do so for him. He admitted to infidelity and says he’s sorry. No questions just a staged hug from his mom.

Ironically one year previous, almost to the date, Alex Rodriguez, the next great baseball king, admitted to using PED’s after years of denying it, still leaving details out of the answers.

Now the question for you is, which cheater would you rather have? Game ruining cheater or family ruining cheetah? or do you even blame them?

In a world full of drug companies pushing pills down our throats or other orifices, putting the high stress level to compete at such a young age and crazy out of their mind parents who go to all ends of the earth for their kid to succeed and millions of dollars to be made in a game, yes a game, do fans really blame Arod for using PEDs?

In that same world where single parents are beginning to outnumber married couples, tv pushing the envelope of how much sex and language they can put on the tube at 5pm, divorce rates above 50%, strip clubs, alcohol and gambling in almost every American city, do viewers really blame Tiger for being unfaithful?

What would you do?

Tiger, what the hell were you thinking?

Now not in your small world of driving your 2003 Toyota Corolla. Not living in your 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath house. Not in your world of your tabby cat wanting to sleep in your bed and being out voted 2-1 by your wife in that regard. How does the cat get a vote? Not in the world of worrying about your retirement plan being at risk every day or how are you gonna pay for your kids college tuition before he’s even born. Actually not even in the world where you don’t even get to play baseball for fun or have models hit on you. The last is a stretch for me but have to make my point.

Think of millions of dollars if you perform on the field or beautiful women all over you. Think of going to any restaurant you want and get in or… have beautiful women all over you. Now I know for these guys its both of them, but amuse me and pick one.

Which one do you want? More so, which one are you? You have to be one of them when you think about your life since its born in us to rebel and cheat since Eve ate the apple and Adam lied about it.

My guess is, that most of America would forgive Tiger before Arod. Not because of his name but because of the deed. I don’t think most Americans are surprised by it nor do most of them blink at it anymore. David Letterman. Kobe Bryant. Bill Clinton. John McCain. Mick Jagger. Hell even LeeAnn Rimes and Prince Edward are in the den of cheetahs. The idea of everyone cheats and just get something better if you have to is not an afterthought, its already in their mind when they say “I do”.

So which are you?

I’m the first one. For one, my beautiful and adoring wife is reading this article. Second brought up an athlete in a game that most girls hated i’m confounded to the first type of cheater. My mom was the only woman cheering for me by her “BOOT IT! YEAHHHH” chants in the stands. In all honestly I wouldn’t know what I would do if I put myself in Arods shoes. Take’m or not to take’m?

Doesn’t matter though since I’m already married to a model… but then again so was Tiger… hmm. Love you Hunny!
