What do you do when your team fails to win a single game during the entire season? New coaching staff? Naturally. New training staff? Nah. New playbook? No. Add leadership through free-agency? Nope. New logo? Hells yeah! You’d think they’d go with a completely new team name, new colors, new everything, so that maybe the world would forget the Detroit Lions and what happened last year. Instead they just changed the font, altered some lines and let it rip.
Apparently a month ago the logo was leaked in the form of a toy 18-wheeler for sale on NFL.com. On Monday the Lions had a full on press-filled unveiling of new logo and branding system to guide the future of the Detroit Lions, complete with their very own typeface, NFL Lions.
The logo and branding site Brand New has more photos and samples of the new-look Lions over on their site, including some shots of the uniform runway show, that looked like it took place in the back of some Detroit warehouse.
