Not So Super Bowl?

This should have gone down as one of the better Super Bowl games, complete with 2 of the greatest comebacks in Super Bowl history and the longest play ever in Super Bowl history.  Unfortunately, the game ended on a sour note.  James Harrison should be celebrated for having the longest score in Super Bowl history, and for that score to be on the defensive end is even more amazing especially given the circumstances right before the end of the half.   Unfortunately his actions in the 4th quarter take away from all of that. James Harrison should have been throw out of the game for what he did, even a half dead John Madden said so, and John has seen some ish in his day.

James Harrison dirty play SB

The other odd thing that struck me was for how tight the game was called there was no review on the final play.  The Refs were consistent throughout the game from the roughing the passer call on Big Ben when he was, i will loosely use the term “shoved” to the ground, to the false start penalty on the Steelers where we re-winded it 10 times and didn’t see anyone so much as sneeze on the O-Line.  The game was called extremely tight and close, but to not review the final play of the game is a travesty.  This game was played so well, had so many comebacks and big plays that we were robbed of a complete game.  I am not saying that Warner’s arm was definitely coming forward, but to not take a look at such a close play is absurd.  If it is overturned, we get a hail mary to one of the best jumpers in the NFL.  Now THAT would have been a fabulous ending.

Warner’s arm was moving forward. No way around it, he even threw the ball to the ground, as he was being hit. It is beyond me how that play wasn’t reviewed.

The biggest letdown was probably the Super Bowl ads? There needed to be a lot more with monkeys. And MacGruber has to be in the running for the worst ad ever.

I hope the league fines and suspends James Harrison, but I’m sure they won’t.

I forgot to write, the unsportsmanlike penalty on the Steelers would have put the ball at the 34 yard line, with time for maybe 2 throws to the endzone.
