Chuck NorrisI thought a weekly sports links article presented by one of the world’s most dangerous and well known men would make for a nice new weekly addition.  Enjoy:

The NBA’s St Patrick’s Day merchandise is just sacrilegious.

Still hating on the Cardinals?

, Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 5:45 PM Comments (1)

For anyone that questioned whether or not the Arizona Cardinals really are a classy bunch of guys, or wasn’t convinced that Larry Fitzgerald is one of the great young stars in the NFL and for Steelers fans that just enjoy hating, here’s another little nugget for you to suck on. Larry Fitzgerald stated during the NFL media extravaganza, that he’d be willing to restructure his contract if it meant that Anquan Boldin would then stay with the Cards.

Every once in a while we hear a story about a selfless star athlete, but they’re few and far between. There are way too many T.O.s, Kobes, Latrell Sprewells, and not enough Larry Fitzgeralds, Dirk Nowitzkis and Gilbert Arenases.

Celtics fans plan boycott until Scalabrine returns

Arai HelmetNot really. Celtics fans love Scal, but not that much, I think. But as any C’s fan knows, Scal has been playing out of his mind lately. And now we know why. As of Wednesday, Brian Scalabrine is out indefinitely after suffering two concussions in three days.

The first shot to the noggin was suffered in the second half of the Celtics’ blowout win in Dallas on Sunday. The second was suffered in Tuesday’s practice after the wirey Patrick O’Bryant gave Scal an inadvertent blow to the dome while going up for a rebound. Thin guys like O’Bryant are notorius for their sharp elbows, I know from personal experience.

The NHL All-Star Snoozefest

, Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 12:24 AM Comments (0)

If you’re a hockey fan you probably are aware the NHL held it’s annual All-Star festivities this past weekend in Montreal. What normally is an event I get geeked up for turned out to be one of the weaker exhibitions in recent memory. Sans most of the skills competition, I was bored out of my mind. Maybe it all started with the way the voting played out, maybe it wasn’t.

Chinese basketball leagues can’t stand the heat, but aren’t ready to leave the kitchen

Yao Ming elbows Chris KamanIn an attempt to make the gameplay in Chinese basketball leagues more physical, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) may be doing more harm than good to the sport in their country.

CBA chief Liu Xiaonong cited the Chinese national team’s poor performance in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as time when they realized their players needed to “strengthen their physical presence” if Chinese basketball players were going to be able to compete with the rest of the best of the world.

Arizona Cardinals Larry FitzgeraldIf you own a Terrible Towel, or you’re a resident of the Steel City, then you can stop reading here. But if your team already got booted from the NFL playoffs then read up. For the next two weeks your team should be the Cardinals and there’s plenty of reasons why.

The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 12

Basketball Jesus The Celtics keep sliding in the standings, and so do their players in the Basketball Jesus Rankings. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have both dropped out of the rankings. But Dwyane Wade is holding on to a  62-point lead over LeBron James for the top spot.

Chris Webber answers Charles Barkleys Ginobili call

, Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM Comments (0)

Sir Charles no longer has a monopoly on shouting the last names of players he admires. Chris Webber now has his own call, a shout-out for the Celtics point guard.

C-Webb has taken to shouting Rondoooooooooooooooo, to give props to one of the leagues young leaders (I just can’t bring myself to call anyone on that team other than KG, Jesus and The Truth a star).

Here’s one of Charles’ famous Ginobiliiiiiiii chants.

While reading one of my favorite blogs, Mark Titus’s Club Trillion, I stumbled upon a gem of a YouTube clip.  This is a video of North Carolina A&T’s home crowd during their season finale against Morgan State.

World Series of “Beer” Pong

, Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 10:08 PM Comments (0)

Beer pongFor the past few years i have known about, where like Beerfest, the best beer pong players from around the US meet to determine who is the best of the best, and to also win some cold hard cash.   This is a great concept, and a great way to show your parents that their college tuition is going to good use.  I have tried the last few years to get my old college pong partner, Nate, to enter the tournament with me, as we could put our legendary college talents to good use.  Now, I am not too sure about going to this tournament.
