The Drubbing

What a difference a month makes. Back in Week 5 Amare Stoudemire was off to a good start to the season and sitting pretty collecting healthy point and rebound totals in every game, earning him the fifth spot in our rankings. Then things started to turn. He dropped to sixth in week 6. Then to ninth in Week 7. He bounced back to the seventh spot in Week 8. And in Week 9 he has found himself tetering on the edge, dropping all the way to the 14th spot. And he’s still averaging 21.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. But it looks like he’s gonna need those 25 points a game he was putting up last year if he’s gonna stay relevant in any Larry Bird Fantasy Basketball League.

Holy Half-Man Half-Amazing, we have a Vince Carter sighting. Coming in at the #13 spot, the aging wonder has eeked his way onto the list. Only one of two Nets we might possibly see in the rankings this year. The other being Devin Harris who has been scoring like a mad man and raking in the assists as well. But he’s got a ways to go since he lost so much time with his early-season injury. LeBron has managed to hold onto the top spot, but it may not last for long as D-Wade is a measly 38 points behind.

NBA All Star game

From his days at University of Washington, battling in the Pac-10 with another NBA bound player Nate Robinson, you could always tell Brandon Roy was one of the better players on the court.  He played all 4 years at Washington, and caught my eye as being steady, a clutch shooter and a fun player to root for.  I continued watching him in the NBA, and was surprised this 4 year NCAA player, sure-thing All-Star dropped to the #6 spot, behind Sheldon Williams, Adam “Cry me a River” Morrison, and Ty Thomas.  So you skip a proven player for an undersized Forward who cannot shoot, a porn stach’ed player who cried before the game finished, and an uber-athletic forward who cannot drive, dribble or shoot?

When will John Hammond wake up and realize, Jerry Reinsdorf was right, I’ve got to can Scott Skiles? Skiles is single-handedly ruining the bucks. I know Mo Williams was a big loss, and no team with Malik Allen on the roster has ever been successful, but the Bucks have still got a decent team. Why does Scott Skiles insist on burying this team so early in the season? He’s managed to make an okay roster bad and I’m worried that if he continues down this path he’ll have turned the Milwaukee Bucks into the Tampa Bay Bucs we all remember, back when they were sporting the bright orange unies.

Is it really his fault? Can you really blame Romeo for not winning more games with this roster? I’m sure there are plenty of Browns fans out there that say, “I could win 4 games coaching that team.” But the truth is, there are only a few coaches in the league that actually could win 4 games [through week 15] with this Cleveland Browns roster. While watching a Denver Nuggets game last week I got to thinking, “Is there anyone on this team that doesn’t have sleeves?” There are a few, other than George Carl, but the list is a pretty short one. So after careful consideration, we’ve compiled a list of the Most Heavily Tattooed Teams in the NBA. We’ve ranked them from most to least, and cited the players with the most ink on each team. They key here is quantity of tattoos, not quality of the artwork (otherwise Steph’s head tattoo and all of Mike Bibby’s tats would automatically send them to the bottom of the list) nor quantity of players with tattoos, or the subject matter of their tattoos. We want lots of guys, with lots of tats. So here they are.

The LA Raiders are in a state of free fall.  This is not news, but with the recent firing of yet another Head Coach, Al Davis may start calling plays himself next year.  Now, there is no doubt that Al has been around and knows more about football than i ever imagine of learning.  But there comes a point in a person’s life where they should just take a step back, know they are past their prime and let things go.  If we ever had a chance for someone to use a video game to make play calls, this may be the time.
