The Basketball Jesus Rankings: Week 3

As the young season chugs along, all is becoming normal in the top-10 of The Basketball Jesus Rankings, but there are still a few statistical outliers sneaking their way into the top-15.

LeBron James continues to stake his claim to the top spot and is holding onto a stout 47-point lead. Perennial contenders Dwayne Wade, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Paul and Chris Bosh have claimed a spot in the top ten.

  1. LeBron James [451]
  2. Dwyane Wade [404]
  3. Dwight Howard [370]
  4. Amare Stoudemire [365]
  5. Paul Pierce [355]
  6. Zach Randolph [351]
  7. Carlos Boozer [344]
  8. Dirk Nowitzki [340]
  9. Chris Paul [338]
  10. Chris Bosh [337]
  11. Andris Biedrins [335]
  12. Tim Duncan [333]
  13. Stephen Jackson [324]

  15. Al Jefferson [313]

Note: Point, rebound and assist total listed next to the player.

Zach Randolph is still shocking the world by thriving in Mike D’Antoni’s up-tempo offense. He’ll be less and less of a surprise in the rankings with each passing week. Andris Biedrins and Stephen Jackson continue to lead the Warriors and keep their spots in the top-15, but I’d be a liar if I said I thought they could keep it up for even the first half of the season. And as surprised as I was to see Michael Redd in the early-season rankings, I’m equally surprised to see another scorer, Joe Johnson, sneak into the rankings. Unless he averages 30+ points per game, he won’t become a staple here.

I only have one question. Where’s Carmelo Anthony?
