Alright, alright – I know – it wasn’t the most thrilling World Series, but it was definitely interesting. I’d like to congratulate my beloved Philadelphia Phillies for finally bringing home a world championship. Yes, we defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, but those same Rays knocked off the defending champs. That says something about the quality club Tampa has, but more importantly it says something about the Phils.
Before the Fall Classic kicked off I offered my thoughts on who I wish the Phils would face, but truly at this point, I don’t care. We beat the SaberCats, err the Rays, but we could have beaten the Mighty Ducks (and not the club in Anaheim) for all I care. Philadelphia will always have claim to the 2008 World Series Championship.
Charlie Manuel you did a brilliant job. It was an up and down season. At times things didn’t look so bright, but things aren’t always sunny in Philadelphia, are they? It seems as if every player on the roster contributed at some point during the playoffs. Nobody was a complete no-show. The parade was great. Thank you ESPN News for broadcasting that. It was a great ride and about damn time. Now, let’s start pulling for the Sixers, Eagles, and Flyers to follow suit.
