It probably didn’t come as a surprise, but my team won the match-up 6-4.  Nate is all talk, no game just like his basketball skills.  I predicted a 6-4 win, and that is exactly what i got, although it could have been a lot worse for Nate, he is lucky Calderon got injured.

As the young season chugs along, all is becoming normal in the top-10 of The Basketball Jesus Rankings, but there are still a few statistical outliers sneaking their way into the top-15.

LeBron James continues to stake his claim to the top spot and is holding onto a stout 47-point lead. Perennial contenders Dwayne Wade, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Paul and Chris Bosh have claimed a spot in the top ten.

Seriously.

Admit it.  Hockey isn’t nearly as boring, hard to follow, trivial, unimportant and irrelevant as you’d like to make it.

We’re now three season’s separated from an NHL work stoppage that many thought would spell the end of hockey in the U.S. for good.  With a plummeting fan base and a TV contract that found its way to rivaling the rodeo for air time, the NHL looked to be in ridiculously thin ice.

Alright, alright – I know – it wasn’t the most thrilling World Series, but it was definitely interesting. I’d like to congratulate my beloved Philadelphia Phillies for finally bringing home a world championship. Yes, we defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, but those same Rays knocked off the defending champs. That says something about the quality club Tampa has, but more importantly it says something about the Phils.
